Your adrenal glands make many hormones, including cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, aldosterone, testosterone. If you are able to follow my guidelines in the detox, shift to lower stress living, increase sleep, and cut out the foods that tend to cause inflammation and cortisol problems, you should be well on your way after 30 days to repairing your adrenal glands.

When you dial in the fiber and the supplements that are in the detox packets (like milk thistle, and curcumin, plus many others), you reset your estrogen by making more of the good estrogens and fewer of the bad estrogens. When you start using more coconut oil and get rid of trans fats and sugar, you help your thyroid. When you remove the most common food intolerances (gluten, dairy), you improve cortisol levels – and of course, the mind-body practices help to reset cortisol too.

Cutting out sugar and sugar substitutes (esp diet soda) helps reset insulin, and eating within 30 minutes of arising and not after 7pm helps you with reseting leptin. Additional supplements like berberine and probiotics help you reshape your gut bacteria – your microbiome – to help you with detoxification.

Perhaps most important: sleep. Every night a full repair conversation needs to happen to heal your adrenal glands. That’s why I recommend detoxing at least twice per year.

Taken together, these aspects of the Detox reset your hormones by repairing your adrenals.
